Warwick Road, Birmingham
Construction of 27 new-build houses and 19 flats for affordable housing
Client:
TR Partnership Homes for Citizen Housing Association
Warwick Road, in the Acocks Green area of Birmingham, comprises the design and construction of 46 affordable homes, delivered in a mix of one, two apartments and two and three-bedroom houses, together with associated external works and supporting infrastructure.
The site, which used to be derelict industrial land, will provide a mix including 32 units for social rent and 14 units for rent to buy. It has been part funded by a grant from the West Midlands Combined Authority, with investment under the “Homes for Everyone” priority.
The units involve light steel frame and timber frame with a closed panel system, with tiled and single ply roofs. Some CFA Piling was required to ensure long-term ground stability, with the utilisation of the Speedeck foundation system.
Our Surveyor, Stuart Hiorns commented: “This is another well-organised site from the TR Partnerships team which is pro-active, communicative and quality driven with a focus on getting it right first time. So far works are progressing well and I look forward to working alongside the team to deliver more high quality, defect-free units.”
This project represents yet another example of Q’s close-working technical relationship with our clients, helping to deliver much needed affordable housing in places where it is most needed.
